Galaxy is an open source, web-based platform for data intensive biomedical research. A scientific workflow, data integration, data analysis and publishing platform that aims to make computational biology accessible to research scientists that do not have computer programming experience.

Galaxy is a web-based scientific analysis platform used to analyse large biomedical datasets such as those found in genomics, proteomics, metabolomics and

imaging. Started in 2005, Galaxy continues to focus on three key challenges of data-driven biomedical science: making analyses accessible to all researchers,

ensuring analyses are completely reproducible, and making it simple to communicate analyses so that they can be reused and extended. It features a rich

toolset for large-scale genomics analyses, terabytes of public data for use, and hundreds of shared analysis histories, workflows, and interactive publication

The TMS has taken an initiative to widen the Galaxy Project in India to utilise the available open resources and to make an accessible environment for research.
