1. Transcriptome Analysis of Triphyophyllum peltatum: This study uses the Galaxy framework to explore the transcriptome of Triphyophyllum peltatum, a liana known for producing naphthylisoquinoline alkaloids.

2. Aqua Metagenomic Analyses: Utilizing Galaxy, this research reveals an admixture of organisms from diverse environments through aqua metagenomic analysis.

3. In Silico Analysis of Antimalarial Properties: This poster presents an in silico study on the antimalarial properties of Satureja myrtifolia and Helichrysum taenari.

4. Integration of ANPDB with UseGalaxy: Highlighting the integration of ANPDB with UseGalaxy, this study empowers drug discovery efforts.

These posters showcase the versatility and power of the Galaxy platform in various research domains. Dr Kiran K Telukunta will be presenting these posters in person at the GCC 2024 conference, held in Brno, Czech Republic.

Metaproteomics: Bioinformatic Workflow for Metaproteomic Analysis of Clinical Samples 

This presentation by Pratik will focus on the bioinformatic workflow for metaproteomic analysis of clinical samples. It will cover the key steps involved in the processing and interpretation of metaproteomic data, including sample preparation, protein extraction, mass spectrometry analysis, and data analysis using bioinformatic tools. Emphasis will be placed on the challenges and solutions in handling complex clinical samples, as well as the potential applications of metaproteomics in understanding disease mechanisms, identifying biomarkers, and improving clinical diagnostics.

Introduction to Galaxy-P Project

METAPROTEOMICS: Promoting Functional Analysis of Microbiome 

In this presentation, Pratik Jagtap will introduce the Galaxy-P project and its application in metaproteomics. The Galaxy-P project is a bioinformatics platform designed to facilitate the analysis of complex proteomic and metaproteomic data through a user-friendly interface and robust computational tools. Pratik will discuss how Galaxy-P promotes functional analysis of the microbiome by streamlining workflows for metaproteomic studies. Emphasis will be placed on the significance of metaproteomics in understanding the functional roles of microbiomes, identifying biomarkers, and advancing clinical diagnostics. The presentation will highlight key features of the Galaxy-P platform, including its capabilities in data integration, visualization, and reproducibility, making it an essential tool for researchers in the field.

The third session of International Webinar Series: Season two on Research and Technological Advancements in Bioinformatics will be conducted on 20th November, 2021 at 03:00 PM IST. The topic that will be covered in this session is FuSe: A Tool for Functional Analysis of RNA-Seq Data by Dr. Rajinder Gupta. This session will be organised by the Centre of Excellence in Health Care Technologies and Informatics (CEHTI) and Department of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT).

A pre-conference workshop on the Galaxy community, tools, and workflows for Cheminformatics and NGS data, was organized by CSIR-NEIST. The conference intended to bring eminent scientists, technologists, and young researchers together in the area of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology across the globe so as to provide a common platform for discussing their achievements and newer directions of cutting-edge research. This conference deliberated the latest developments in the field of Bioinformatics with a special interest to Computational drug discovery within the country and worldwide. 

An introductory lecture and hands-on training were conducted on Galaxy basics by Ms. Darshana Joshi, Ms. Alanis Tanya and Dr. Kiran K Telukunta. The event was organized on 30th October 2021 at 19:15 IST, as a part of the INBIX '21 Indian Conference on Bioinformatics.

Bioclues, TMS Foundation and other stakeholders of Galaxy India made a soft launch of Galaxy India

• Training and workshops, both standalone and at larger meetings

• Webinars and community calls

• In person gatherings, once these become prudent

• Communications channels, including chat and a mailing list

• An India-focused server hosted by the European Galaxy Team

• And, was planning to have India-based UseGalaxy server in the year

This BoF covered community resources, and discussed their further plans regarding Galaxy-India. Galaxy India intends to have a full launch, later this year, as part of Inbix 2021.

An online talk discussing one of the foremost projects of Galaxy, Next Generation Sequencing Analysis of of lung cancer datasets: A functional genomics perspective by Dhatri Madduru and Pranathi Pappu

This was perhaps the first Galaxy project from India mentored by Prash.

A talk followed by a workshop on GALAXY India project was conducted during the online International conference on Data Science in Biology (ICDSB) 2020 on 3rd September, 2020. During this event, Anshu Bhardwaj introduced about “Galaxy and Galaxy India” while Harpreet Singh gave introduction about “Bioclues and its role as a launch pad for GALAXY Bioclues India initiative”. These talks were followed by a workshop conducted by Rakesh Kumar and Tina Sharma from IMTECH, Chandigarh on the topics “Galaxy Installation, tool and workflow integration” and “Sample workflow of mapping of AMR determinants from Nanopore data”, respectively.

An online webinar on Introduction to Galaxy platform by Kiran K Telukunta, Sangram Kesari Sahu and Sahana Muthukumar as a part of the Bioclues weekly Journal club on 25th September 2020 at 15:00 IST.

Bioclues stakeholders made a mark during the online Bioinformatics Community Conference 2020 (BCC2020).

Harpreet Singh, Anshu Bhardwaj and Prashanth Survajhala from Bioclues acted as speakers along with other members of the GALAXY India team including Sonika Tyagi, Pratik Jagtap, Sangram Sahu and Kiran K Telukunta during the Birds-of-a-Feather (BoF): Galaxy-India: Launch and Outreach Plans” sessions which were conducted for the West as well as East hemispheres. In this BoF, various deliberations were made related to the launch of Galaxy India community with the events such as Webinars, Workshops, Faculty Enrichment Programs, Galaxy Workflow videos in local languages etc.
