GCC 2024 accepted & presented posters by Galaxy Bharat

We are excited to announce four innovative posters at GCC 2024, presented by TMS Foundation, Bioclues and Galaxy Bharat as part of Galaxy Bharat Consortium (understand more about Galaxy Bharat Consortium (GBC) in FAQs). Transcriptome Analysis of Triphyophyllum peltatum: This study uses the Galaxy framework to explore the transcriptome of Triphyophyllum peltatum, a liana known for producing naphthylisoquinoline alkaloids.
Aqua Metagenomic Analyses: Utilizing Galaxy, this research reveals an admixture of organisms from diverse environments through aqua metagenomic analysis.
In Silico Analysis of Antimalarial Properties: This poster presents an in silico study on the antimalarial properties of Satureja myrtifolia and Helichrysum taenari.
Integration of ANPDB with UseGalaxy: Highlighting the integration of ANPDB with UseGalaxy, this study empowers drug discovery efforts.

METAPROTEOMICS: Promoting Functional Analysis of Microbiome
In this presentation, Pratik Jagtap will introduce the Galaxy-P project and its application in metaproteomics. The Galaxy-P project is a bioinformatics platform designed to facilitate the analysis of complex proteomic and metaproteomic data through a user-friendly interface and robust computational tools. Pratik will discuss how Galaxy-P promotes functional analysis of the microbiome by streamlining workflows for metaproteomic studies. INBIX '21: Pre-conference Workshop on Galaxy

A pre-conference workshop on the Galaxy community, tools, and workflows for Cheminformatics and NGS data, was organized by CSIR-NEIST. The conference intended to bring eminent scientists, technologists, and young researchers together in the area of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology across the globe so as to provide a common platform for discussing their achievements and newer directions of cutting-edge research. This conference deliberated the latest developments in the field of Bioinformatics with a special interest to Computational drug discovery within the country and worldwide.

An online talk discussing one of the foremost projects of Galaxy, Next Generation Sequencing Analysis of of lung cancer datasets: A functional genomics perspective by Dhatri Madduru and Pranathi Pappu
This was perhaps the first Galaxy project from India mentored by Prash.
A talk followed by a workshop on GALAXY India project was conducted during the online International conference on Data Science in Biology (ICDSB) 2020 on 3rd September, 2020. During this event, Anshu Bhardwaj introduced about “Galaxy and Galaxy India” while Harpreet Singh gave introduction about “Bioclues and its role as a launch pad for GALAXY Bioclues India initiative”. These talks were followed by a workshop conducted by Rakesh Kumar and Tina Sharma from IMTECH, Chandigarh on the topics “Galaxy Installation, tool and workflow integration” and “Sample workflow of mapping of AMR determinants from Nanopore data”, respectively.

Bioclues stakeholders made a mark during the online Bioinformatics Community Conference 2020 (BCC2020).
Harpreet Singh, Anshu Bhardwaj and Prashanth Survajhala from Bioclues acted as speakers along with other members of the GALAXY India team including Sonika Tyagi, Pratik Jagtap, Sangram Sahu and Kiran K Telukunta during the Birds-of-a-Feather (BoF): Galaxy-India: Launch and Outreach Plans” sessions which were conducted for the West as well as East hemispheres. In this BoF, various deliberations were made related to the launch of Galaxy India community with the events such as Webinars, Workshops, Faculty Enrichment Programs, Galaxy Workflow videos in local languages etc.
